DKK 21 million for research at Aarhus BSS

Researchers from Aarhus BSS have received a total of DKK 21 million from the Independent Research Fund Denmark (IRFD). The money will be spent on research into the Danes’ attitudes towards the defence opt-out, moral considerations in connection with the sale of surrogacy, sex, and kidneys, and research within topics such as psychiatric disorders, gender norms, the evolution of interest rates during a time of crisis, and how voting advice applications influence voters.

Three professors of economics, Bjarni Vilhjálmsson, Daniele Nosenzo and Bent Jesper Christensen, from the Department of Economics and Business Economics and Associate Professor Mathias Wessel Tromborg, Associate Professor Andreas Brøgger Albertsen and Professor Derek Beach from the Department of Political Science each receive a grant from the Independent Research Fund Denmark (IRFD) in this round of applications.

The grants for Bjarni Vilhjálmsson and Mathias Wessel Tromborg amount to approximately DKK 6 million each and belong under the IRFD instrument Research Project 2. The four other recipients receive IRFD Research Project 1 grants ranging from DKK 500,000 to approximately 3 million. In total, researchers from Aarhus BSS have received grants of DKK 21 million.

The money will be used for research into psychiatric disorders, gender norms, the evolution of interest rates during times of crisis as well as the Danes’ attitudes towards the defence opt-out, how voting advice applications influence voters, and moral considerations in relation to the sale of surrogacy, sex and kidneys.
