Researcher Spotlight #8 — Anne Peschel

This time we talk with Anne Peschel about her research at COBE Lab

Anne Peschel

1. Anne—what is your background and job role at AU?

I obtained my MSc in Food and Resource Economics at Bonn University and my BSc in Oecotrophologie (Nutrition) at the University of Applied Sciences in Münster. Yes, I am German.

In my primary role at AU, I will finish my PhD at the Department of Economics and Business in January 2016, but I  spent the first two and a half years of my PhD at the Department of Management.

2. What are your main areas of research?

My research lies in the field of Behavioural Pricing, allowing me to find myself at home both in the field of Consumer Behaviour and Behavioural Economics — but given my background, I find all research on decision making with the food domain fascinating.

I run most of my studies together with colleagues from the Department of Management and definitely enjoyed the project we worked on in the AU Network for Computational Modelling and Complex Interaction (CMCI) — so let's see what interesting projects the future holds.

3. Are you involved with any teaching at the moment?

Nope – not at the moment.

4. How did you hear about Cognition and Behavior Lab?

As the first Cognition and Behavior Lab 'Researcher of the Year', I cannot even remember if I heard about the Lab or the Lab heard about me...(very humble there Anne).

5. How have you used the Lab so far (types of studies)?

I used the Lab for all of my data collection as part of my PhD project, including using the computer-based interaction lab (Lab 1) and all numerous rooms of Lab 2. I've used both of the eye trackers too. The facilities are great for conducting computer based studies and keep improving continuously!

6. Away from your research, what do you enjoy doing?

I like to play volleyball, to go stand-up paddling and to travel.

7. Finally, which Associated Researcher would you like to see under 'spotlight' next time?

Martin Bagger
