New consent form template

Due to the growing emphasis on data protection, we collaborated with AU's legal department to revise our existing consent form template

As you all know data protection has become more of an issue since the GDPR came in place. As a consequence, we have revised our consent form template in collaboration with the lawyers from AU. Please use this new template for your future studies.

The lawyers at AU also require that they check all consent forms. We agreed with them that as long the study “only” collects CPR numbers for payment and deletes these CPR numbers after payments are conducted, there is no need to send the consent form to the lawyers (unless you want us to do so). Trine will pre-screen the forms in this regard. But if more personal information is collected, we will send your form to the lawyers – so please allow for some extra time to process your study. And make sure to update yourself on the COBE webpage (http://bss.au.dk/en/cognition-and-behavior-lab/for-researchers/data-protection/) and the respective AU webpage (http://www.au.dk/informationssikkerhed/databeskyttelse/) about data protection.

Finally, the HSC introduced a “desk reject and resubmit policy”: forms that are incomplete or are very sloppy will be send back to the researchers without review but with an invitation to submit a complete form. We hope for your understanding for this new policy – all members of HSC do this job in their leisure time – without any compensation.  Incomplete and sloppy forms take a lot of time.
