Scholarship for talented retail students

Congratulations to Louise Nørregade Buch, Frederik Bang and Nina Sofia Persson. Out of the 100 students enrolled on the degree programme in Commercial and Retail Management at Aarhus BSS, these three were recently awarded the newly established Ferdinand scholarship from the Salling Foundations.

The three recipients of the scholarship were selected by the top management at Salling Group following a thorough selection process which culminated with six candidates giving a presentation in front of the Salling Group management team.

“You all did really great – you are all winners,” said CEO of Salling Group Per Bank at the scholarship award ceremony, which was held at Salling Group’s headquarters in Aarslev close to Aarhus.

“It was somewhat nerve-racking, but also instructive to stand in front of such a competent panel,” says Nina Sofia Persson, who has done an internship at BR/Bilka Operations.

Frederik Bang, who has converted theory into practice in the Name it team in Bestseller Retail, adds:

“It was a surreal experience, but also pretty cool to stand there and talk while drawing stuff on Per Bank’s whiteboard in front of all these people with really impressive CVs.”

“It was a really great experience,” says Louise Nørregaard Buch, who has worked closely with retail in the marketing department of the Salling Department Store:

“It feels like a great pat on the back and you could sense that they appreciated how you are able to geek out on retail theories and deal thoroughly with the subject matter as a student.”

“It was a delight to observe the students’ solid interest in this area – both in the classroom and during the internship – and to experience the great support that this degree programme continues to receive from the industry, of which the Ferdinand scholarship is yet another example. We are very satisfied with our first year group on this programme, who will graduate this summer, just as we are happy to see that our students’ interest in applying for this line of the Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration continues,” says Thomas Pallesen, dean of Aarhus BSS.
