My research focuses on how parties compete with each other in particular in terms of setting the issue agenda and how this competition affects political decision making on issues like immigration, welfare-state reforms and euthanasia. I have also studied how the mass media influence party competition.

My focus is on Denmark in a comparative perspective and I have in particular focused on the Netherlands, Sweden and Ireland.

My latest project investigates how voters view cooperation and coalition building amongst political parties.

Teaching activities

teach various courses at the BA level, particular introduction to public policy, but also introduction to political science and seminars on political parties.
