Executive Reception: Meet the co-founder of the Business Model Canvas

In this interactive and hands-on seminar, Dr. Yves Pigneur (the co-founder of the Business Model Canvas) will offer his take on Business Model Innovation. You will get the latest knowledge on how to design business models and value propositions to decrease the risks of innovation – and you will be introduced to the new visual tool “Cultural Map”. 

Dr. Yves Pigneur has been a professor at the University of Lausanne since 1984 and has held visiting professorships at Georgia State University, University of British Columbia, National University of Singapore, and HEC Montreal. Together with strategy consultant Alexander Osterwalder, he invented the strategic management tool Business Model Canvas, and in 2010, they authored the international bestseller “Business Model Generation” and more recently the book “Value Proposition Design”. In 2015, they were ranked #15 of the world’s Most Influential Business Thinkers by Thinkers50 and won the prestigious “Strategy Award”. In 2016, Dr. Yves Pigneur won the Outreach Award presented by the Association for Information Systems (AIS).

During the seminar, you get to apply the concepts and canvases to map out business models and value propositions. Dr. Yves Pigneur will also introduce the use of design thinking and lean startup for exploring, prototyping and testing value propositions and business models. And he will illustrate the ground rules and pitfalls of using the Business Model Canvas in large corporations.
