The Interdisciplinary Centre for Digital Business Development (DBD) is an interdisciplinary research centre at the Department of Business Development and Technology (BTECH) at Aarhus BSS, Aarhus University.

The centre’s focus is on world-leading research within the topics of digital technologies applied in business development in various sectors such as manufacturing, transport, supply chain, etc.

Job description

We are looking for a candidate who can professionalise the centre’s daily activities and strengthen its global, interdisciplinary profile. The centre administrator’s main tasks include:

  • Conventional administrative tasks (the centre’s daily activities)
  • Project administration (typically international projects involving external partners)
  • Operational project support (documentation and administrative research proposal assistance)
  • Support of conference and workshop activities
  • Support of international visitors
  • Support of internal and external dissemination of success stories
  • Record-keeping

Work hours are flexible. During peaks (typically due to conferences or external deadlines), non-standard work hours may be required.

The centre administrator will be part of the department secretariat at BTECH with reference to the head of secretariat.

Your qualifications

The preferred candidate has an outgoing personality, a strong academic background and significant industry experience. Furthermore, applicants should have the following qualifications:
  • Ability to create structure in a complex and dynamic environment
  • Detail-oriented and self-driven
  • Open-minded with networking capabilities
  • Fluent in English and Danish

Who we are

DBD conducts research focused on the combination of cutting-edge digital technologies and business development. Through national and international projects and collaborations with companies, universities and municipalities, we examine and develop the process of how private and public companies plan and design, conduct, implement and evaluate the output of digital transformation and sustainable, digital business development.

DBD is a research centre at BTECH, Aarhus BSS, Aarhus University – a top 100 university. BTECH is located in the business-oriented and entrepreneurial city of Herning, Denmark. The department excels in business and engineering disciplines and pays particular attention to company collaborations. BTECH has around 1,800 students and close to 100 faculty and staff. Each year, approximately 500 students are involved in company projects in more than 250 companies ranging from SMEs to leading globals.

The place of work will be Birk Centerpark 15, DK-7400 Herning.

Terms of employment

The position as centre administrator for DBD is a full-time position with a duration of three years. The starting date is 1 August 2021 or as agreed upon.
