Feedback activities with many students using Peergrade

Purpose

The objective of this workshop is to enhance your ability to use peer-feedback activities in classes with many students. We focus on how you can integrate peer feedback in your teaching using Peergrade, and we discuss the choices you have to make as a teacher.  During the workshop, you will become familiar with the digital platform Peergrade.

Content

The first part of the workshop focuses on planning and preparing peer feedback activities using Peergrade. We will work with how to prepare the academic content, including how to enhance students understanding of the criteria used in the peer feedback process.

In the second part of the workshop, you will practice using Peergrade by setting up an assignment (peer feedback activity) in the system.

Participants will have the opportunity to share experiences with feedback and Peergrade.

Activities

  • Short presentations
  • Exercises followed by brief discussions

Feedback

After the workshop, you are invited to submit a description of a peer feedback activity where you use Peergrade to the course coordinator for feedback.

Preparation

  • Watch short videos on peer feedback and Peergrade
  • Identify a course beforehand, and bring one or more ideas for peer feedback assignments to the workshop.
