The Department of Business Development and Technology (BTECH) at Aarhus BSS, Aarhus University, invites applications for assistant professorship positions in business economics.
 
An assistant professorship is a fixed-term three-year position. The starting date is 1 May 2020 or as agreed upon.
 
Job description
We are looking for eminent candidates who can strengthen our research profile. A significant part of our work involves business partners, and we often perform applied research. Hence, it is paramount that the candidate conducts research on topics that are relevant to modern companies. Candidates with research activities involving industry will be preferred. The successful candidate will become part of the AIROD research group.
 
The candidate is expected to teach and supervise students at bachelor’s and master’s level. The study programmes include an MSc in International Business Development, a Bachelor in Economics and Business Administration as well as industry-oriented training. Courses relevant for the position are taught in both Danish and English: Management Accounting (Økonomistyring), Finance (Finansiering), Financial Accounting (Eksternt årsregnskab) and Business Economics (Erhvervsøkonomi) – more specifically the area of managerial economics (driftsøkonomi).
 
Qualification requirements
Applicants for an assistant professorship should hold a PhD or equivalent academic qualifications.
 
Applicants are encouraged to describe how their research is related to businesses and society. The description could describe concrete collaborations, impact, dissemination activities, etc.
 
Successful candidates are expected to acquire a reasonable level of Danish proficiency, and the department will support this activity.
 
Who we are
BTECH is a satellite department of Aarhus University located in the business-oriented and entrepreneurial city of Herning. The department excels in business and engineering disciplines and pays particular attention to company collaborations. In 2018, more than 500 students were involved in projects in more than 250 companies ranging from SMEs to leading global companies. Our incubator Business Factory launches 15 new companies every year.
 
We influence society through business development and technology. For this reason, many research projects are conducted in close collaboration with industry on the basis of new data and new technologies. These projects are generously supported by H2020, the Independent Research Fund Denmark and the Danish Industry Foundation, among others.

The appointment is made in accordance with the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff at Danish Universities as well as the circular on the Collective Agreement for Academics Employed by the State (in Danish).
