Hanne Nørreklit becomes Knight of the Order of Dannebrog
On 23 September 2016, Professor Hanne Nørreklit from Aarhus BSS at Aarhus University will be appointed Knight of the Order of Dannebrog by HM Queen Margrethe II.
Hanne Nørreklit receives the Cross of Honour of the Order of Dannebrog in recognition of her outstanding career. In her research, Hanne Nørreklit has focused primarily on the research field ‘Management Accounting and Control.’
Today, Hanne Nørreklit is head of the international network Actor Reality Construction. In cooperation with other researchers in the network, she studies management accounting and control, while other members of the network focus on topics within the fields of philosophy, economics and management. The network aims to develop and describe methods for supporting actors in the construction and development of well-functioning management and accounting practices. Common to all research in the network is that it takes point of department in the notion that to establish a well-functioning practice you need to integrate the following four aspects of human reality: facts, opportunities, values and communication.
Hanne Nørreklit is associate editor and editorial board member at a number of international journals. In addition, she has published more than 100 articles, books and book chapters in six different languages. Several of these have been published in highly ranked journals.
Hanne Nørreklit has received several academic awards and honours for her research, including the following research awards:
- 2012: Outstanding Paper Award Winner for best article in Qualitative Research in Accounting & Management 2011
- 2005: David Solomon Prize for Best Article in Management Accounting Research 2004
Hanne Nørreklit originally graduated from the Aarhus School of Business. She completed her PhD in 1989.
Hanne Nørreklit’s impressive CV clearly reveals that she enjoys working with international researchers. During her career, she has spent a considerable amount of time living and working abroad, and she has made the most of the opportunity of conducting her research in international research environments.
Today, Hanne Nørreklit is professor at the Department of Management at Aarhus BSS. She has also worked at Aalborg University and the Norwegian School of Economics, and she has visited and worked at a number of business schools and universities in the US, France, the UK, Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands and Italy.
Hanne Nørreklit’s career started in the private sector in the companies Pasilac A/S and Södahl Design.
