Who we are
BTECH is a satellite department of Aarhus University located in the business-oriented and entrepreneurial city of Herning. The department excels in business and engineering disciplines and pays particular attention to company collaborations. In 2017, more than 400 students were involved in projects in more than 150 companies ranging from SMEs to leading global companies. Our incubator Business Factory launched more than ten new companies in 2017.

We influence society through business development and technology. For this reason, many research projects are conducted in close collaboration with industry based on new data and new technologies. These projects are generously supported by H2020, the Danish Research Council and the Danish Industry Foundation, among others.

In 2017, we launched a new research centre entitled ‘Centre for Business Development’ (CBD), which has a focus on digital business development. CBD complements the AIROD research group, which focuses more broadly on organisational development. Being on a steep growth trajectory, BTECH welcomed more than 20 new employees in 2017, and together with AUHE Midwest Support Fond, we initiated a forum for business leaders with more than 100 members. In 2018, we will offer a new study programme: an MSc in International Business Development. With this vibrant and dynamic environment, our new colleague is someone who enjoys interacting with colleagues, businesses and leading researchers.
