Assistant Professor in Economics and Business Economics - 955212

The Department of Economics and Business Economics at Aarhus University, invites applications for a number of positions as post docs and assistant professors.

Different job packages will be offered. The assistant professorships can be either fixed-term three-year positions or open-ended tenure-track positions with a tenure review in four to five years and with a positive associate professor assessment before the end of the fifth year of employment. The post doc positions will be fixed-term position up to 3 years. The starting date is 1 August 2018 or as soon as possible hereafter subject to mutual agreement. Job description
The successful applicant is expected to contribute significantly to the department’s research and teaching environment and activities. We expect you to teach and supervise students at Bachelor’s and Master’s level and to carry out individual and group-based research of the highest international standard, which contributes to developing the academic field in question.

Research fields
Applications in all research fields covered by the Department are invited. Major responsibilities include teaching of undergraduate and graduate students in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Econometrics and Logistics and research within those fields.

Your qualifications
To qualify for the position as assistant professor in Economics and Business Economics, you must hold a relevant PhD or have equivalent qualifications.

Who we are
The Department of Economics and Business Economics is one of the six departments at Aarhus BSS one of the four faculties at Aarhus University. Aarhus BSS unites the business and social science-related research fields and brings them closer together to reflect the close relationship between society and the business community. As part of a Top 100 university, Aarhus BSS, and specifically the Department of Economics and Business Economics, has achieved the distinguished AASCB, AMBA and EQUIS accreditations.

At the Department of Economics and Business Economics, we cover a broad range of academic areas. We aim to conduct research in a broad range of areas within economics and business economics and offer a range of degree programmes at the highest level. The department employs approximately 140 academic staff members and 70 PhD students, and our academic staff is highly international and culturally diverse. The Department is host to several research centres providing an active research environment with ample influx of visiting researchers. We focus specifically on the recruitment of excellent and international researchers, and our research and degree programmes also have a strong international focus. The Department faculty is international and the working language is English and the majority of courses taught are in English. Tenured faculty will be expected to learn Danish.

The appointment is in accordance with the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff at Danish Universities as well as the circular on the Collective Agreement for Academics Employed by the State .
