They have assisted in peace negotiations, they have negotiated deals worth billions of dollars and they have contributed to solving difficult conflicts all over the world. They are experts in negotiation, and lecturers at Harvard, MIT and Tufts, to name just a few.

For the past 30 years, they have taught more than 35,000 public and private leaders, lawyers, HR staff, organisations, politicians and civil servants from all over the world. Now it is Denmark’s turn, and from 20 to 22 June, Aarhus BSS is offering the PON Global course in collaboration with the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School.

During three intensive course days, participants will become familiar with a toolkit of negotiation techniques that will help them become better negotiators – professionally and personally.

The course is comprised of interactive classroom sessions led by a PON instructor, video-based modules featuring world-class PON faculty, real-life Harvard case studies, videoconferences with faculty at Harvard, dynamic negotiation exercises and discussions.

“At the Program on Negotiation, we believe that negotiation skills are essential for all leaders. Through training, you can increase your ability to improve partnerships, make better deals, and avoid unnecessary and costly disputes,” says Professor Guhan Subramanian, Chair of the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School.

“We look forward to our first PON Global course in Scandinavia, and bringing this research to Aarhus BSS.”

Mikkel Gudsøe, Honorary Associate Professor at Aarhus BSS, introduced the collaboration between the two universities, and is leading Aarhus’s efforts to promote the course. He has years of experience in teaching negotiation techniques and strategies in Denmark and internationally. He also has practical experience from business and industry.

“During the three days, participants can expect to have their skills tested in many different negotiation scenarios, and to learn from leading experts via unique modules presented by the on-site instructor. They will also get to work and network with the other participants. During two live videoconferences with Harvard, we will even have the rare opportunity to ask questions of additional leading experts, and get their inputs and advice. It will be three truly amazing days for us and for the participants," says Gudsøe from experience.

Dean Thomas Pallesen, Aarhus BSS, is equally excited about the partnership. “The course that we are now able to offer public and private leaders, as well as other interested parties, is rather unique. I look forward to collaborating with the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School, one of the world’s leading institutions in the field of negotiation.”

At the end of the course, participants who have attended all sessions and participated in all simulations will receive an official certificate of completion from the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School.
