Summer Festival 2019

Aarhus BSS invites all alumni, jubilee alumni, close partners and employees to the annual Summer Festival on Friday 16 August 2019.

Once again, the stage is set for a cosy and informal party with live music, drinks and street food in the University Park.

This year’s live music is provided by Peter Sommer, Nicklas Sahl, Sanne Salomonsen and Scarlet Pleasure.

Meet up with former classmates, colleagues and collaboration partners, and enjoy a fun day with a great atmosphere, a variety of food, festivities and music.

Inspirational afternoon

From philanthropy to business

Before the Summer Festival, we will kick off the afternoon with inspirational presentations and a panel debate. Here researchers, politicians and business leaders will discuss the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals under the heading “From philanthropy to business”.

The afternoon programme will take place in the Main Hall on Nordre Ringgade.

Sanne Salomonsen is truly the people’s songstress and almost synonymous with the female voice of Danish rock: Often copied, never outperformed. During her career, she has received most of the awards available in the Danish music industry with the IFPI’s Honorary Prize in 2005 as the temporary culmination.

Through his critically acclaimed debut EP “Planets”, Nicklas Sahl has proved himself to be one of the most talented new artists on the Danish music scene. Street food

At the festival, you will find a colourful combination of food stands with talented street chefs serving different kinds of culinary experiences. It’s up to you what and when you want to eat.

You can look forward to various Thai dishes, burger, fish 'n' chips, pasta, pancakes and hotdogs etc.

When you arrive at the festival, you will receive 20 food and drink tickets that can be used in the various stands. Naturally, you can buy extra tickets at the festival.Please note: payment only by credit card or MobilePay.

You can register for the Summer Festival in the University Park and/or the afternoon programme in the Main Hall.

  • Afternoon programme: From philanthropy to business (14:00-16:55)

  • Summer Festival in the University Park (17:00-02:00)

Deadline for registration is 6 August 2019.
There is a limited number of places which are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

A band plays on the stage while the participants look on. The venue is illuminated by stage lights.

Directions

The Summer Festival is held in the lower part of the University Park at Aarhus University.

Transportation

Parking facilities on the day

On 16 August, you are free to park in the ParkZone employee parking areasin the University Park and at Trøjborgvej 82-84. This only applies for the parking areas  marked by black ParkZone signs with the heading “AU medarbejderparkering”. See the parking areas.

Please note that the parking spaces by the Natural History Museum and the Steno Museum are not included. In addition, parking along the public roads in the University Park is still subject to the parking restrictions issued by Aarhus Municipality. Please consult the signs and be aware of possible time limits.

Although parking is free in the employee parking areas on the day of festival, there is still a limited number of parking spaces. For that reason, we encourage you to use public transport.


Food and drinks

There will be different stands serving food and drinks. Once you have registered for the festival, you will receive 20 food and drink tickets when you arrive, which you can use at the different stands.

The food stands will be presented on an ongoing basis on this page.

Naturally, you can buy extra food and drink tickets at the festival.

There will be a manned cloakroom free of charge at the festival.
